Allow Me To Introduce You to Amour Vert and Rossi & Rei

Amour Vert

I recently had the honor of working with two (new to me) brands, Amour Vert and Rossi & Rei.

Both brands are based in San Francisco and killing it.

Amour Vert means green love in french but it also means non-toxic dyes, sensuous fabrics, and innovative techniques. They are also known for their specially engineered textiles and blended fabrics. They are crafted to be soft, flattering and long-lasting (trust me – they are). They only use low-impact dyes and adopt a zero-waste philosophy – very San Francisco.

I can not tell you how many compliments I have received on this slip dress from Amour Vert. I’ve dressed it up for this look with a blazer + pumps and dressed it down with gladiator sandals and boho jewelry for brunch with the girls.

Amour Vert is located online, on Fillmore St. (if you are in San Francisco) and in select Nordstrom stores!

Now, let me introduce you to Rossi & Rei. The (fabulous) Italian ladies behind Rossi & Rei are democratizing the Italian lifestyle by selling small-batch Italian goods for the modern woman. All of their products are designed and made in Italy. I can not tell you how many people have asked me  “Where did you get that?” in reference to this, Giulia bag! It fits my MacBook Air, my DSLR camera and the rest of my life – no problem!

They are just online right now, but I can guarantee that a delivery from Rossi & Rei will brighten and liven up your wardrobe!

And they lovely ladies are offering a 20% off discount with the code: KATWALKSF20

#LucyLetsGo Athleisure: My Kind of Trend

Lucy Activewear
According to Wikipedia athliesure is a trend in fashion in which clothing designed for workouts and other athletic activities is worn in other settings, such as during work, casual or social occasions. Athleisure outfits are yoga pants, tights and leggings that “look like athletic wear” and characterized as “fashionable, dressed up sweats and exercise clothing”. The idea is that gym clothes are supposedly making their way out of the gym and becoming a larger part of people’s everyday wardrobes.

Well, I am pretty sure the fashion gods blessed all of us when this magical ‘athliesure’ trend came to life. It is HONESTLY what I want to be wearing every day. The Lucy, ‘Get Going Dress’ above has not left my body or my suitcase for the entire summer. The magical fabric is a quick-dry and lightweight four-way stretch woven fabric. This fabric packs like a dream and is the perfect piece to throw on over your bathing suit because it drys in seconds. The dress comes in three colors. I suggest you snag them ALL.

Now, let’s talk about the pockets on this ‘Destination Anywhere Long Wrap’ from Lucy. Again, a killer piece for traveling and layering over leggings AND should you actually feel like dressing up one day…it works over a dress!

How do you feel about this trend? Will you be rocking athliesure?

What I Ate: Al Fresco Dining with Cultivar Wine + Pure Leaf Iced Tea

Cultivar + Pure Leaf Tea

Can I cook?

Not really. 99% of the time I either dine out or order in, but on the rare occasion that I do actually cook I have to have a VERY simple recipe and ALL the wine.

So, last week (with ALL the help from the team over at Pure Leaf Tea) I busted into my kitchen, made dinner and actually utilized the outdoor space in my apartment building for a beautiful al fresco dining experience.

Cultivar + Pure Leaf Tea

Chilled Summer Soup

By Matthew Accarrino

YIELD: 7-8 servings (8 oz)

FOR THE SOUP

1 quart tomato, diced

1 cup cucumber, peeled and seeded

3/4 cups red bell pepper, diced

1/2 cup onion, diced

1 cup strawberry, diced

1/2 garlic clove

1/4 jalapeno, seeded

1/4 cup basil leaves

1/4 cup country bread, crustless, cubed

1 tablespoon kosher salt

1/4 cup olive oil

1 tablespoon sherry vinegar

3/4 cups Pure Leaf Tea House Collection™ Sicilian Lemon & Honeysuckle

Combine all ingredients and rest overnight, minimum 4 hours, in the refrigerator. Blend finely.

I used an immersion blender – not as easy as a Vitamix

FOR THE GARNISH

Sliced strawberries, dried at low heat in oven on non-stick baking sheet

I added in the Cultivar Crushed Lemon Olive Oil as a fun and delicious drizzle. This oil is seriously yummy and great with bread or as a salad dressing.

Serve soup chilled with Cultivar Crushed Lemon Olive Oil and topped with strawberry chips.

Pure Leaf Tea

Ruti

And while the soup took a break in the fridge for 4 hours, we hit the streets and shot a few outfit pictures. This was shortly after my trip to Arizona (insert insane tan) and YES I am still rocking this insanely flattering culottes from Ruti.

They are on sale.

Buy them in EVERY color.

Cultivar + Pure Leaf Tea

This recipe is simple…

(I didn’t burn down my house and it only used one pot)

and it pairs perfectly with the Cultivar Sauvignon Blanc. This crisp, refreshing wine is perfect for sipping by itself, while making the summer soup – with the summer soup and after the summer soup.

What I Ate: Volta

Volta

Prior to stepping foot into the Architectural Digest worthy space that is Volta my only introduction to Scandinavian food was the food court at Ikea…yikes! But, I love French food quite possibly more than any other cuisine so despite my minimal knowledge of Scandinavian cuisine I walked into Volta with high hopes – in high heels.

The Volta menu pays homage to France and draws from Chef Terje’s Scandinavian heritage, alongside carefully selected wines and beers, classic cocktails and housemade aquavit.

Volta

Some of the standout dishes from my dining experience included:

The Skagen: North Atlantic shrimp, dill and horseradish sauce, toasted brioche, whitefish roe and radish.

The Steak Tartare: Shallots, capers, beets, cornichon and a quail egg.

The Duck Terrine: Cherry compote, truffle gastrique and toasts.

The Volta

And…

To kick off summer, Volta has announced their new Happy Hour menu and Bar Snacks menu.

#TreatYoSelf to Happy Hour at the Volta Bar Monday through Friday from 3:00-6:00pm. You can enjoy Volta Bar Snacks, including a selection of $5 bites and two signature burgers.

(only available at the KILLER Volta Bar)
