The Best Yountville Hotels

Hotel Yountville – full room tour here

Located on the main street, just minutes from Yountville’s best restaurants (find them below), this boutique hotel promises a relaxing wine country retreat and in my opinion is the BEST Yountville hotel. The hotel features 80 casual-chic guest rooms – equipped with fireplaces, flat-screen TVs, four-poster beds, and jetted tubs. The property also offers a full-service spa, a courtyard pool, event spaces, and assorted freebies (Wi-Fi, wine tastings, and loaner bikes among them).

Sitting at the southern end of town, Hotel Yountville enjoys a convenient main-street location and offers on-foot access to many acclaimed restaurants and wineries. Hotel Yountville has some truly incredible features for a boutique property. It boasts a 4,000-square foot spa containing six treatment rooms -> two of the treatment rooms are couples’ suites (that I had the opportunity to experience with the fisherman) with Vichy showers and double hydrotherapy tubs. The heated pool is a MAJOR highlight, edged with loungers and the adjacent bar and restaurant. Other features include a 24-hour front desk with concierge capabilities; dry-cleaning/laundry, twice-daily housekeeping, and basic business services. Freebies are also extensive and include newspapers in the lobby, hotel-wide Wi-Fi, and tastings at partnered wineries throughout the valley.

Napa Valley Lodge

Set on a Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard, Napa Valley Lodge has countryside ambiance galore while also being a mere 10-minute walk from the town of Yountville. The 55 rooms here come with private balconies and coffeemakers, and some spaces have fabulous views of the surrounding vineyards. There’s no restaurant on-site, but the hotel can arrange reservations at nearby spots. A tiny gym and breakfast room (don’t skip the free breakfast) are on the property as well, as is a spa that offers facials, body treatments, and massages.

A large fountain and a covered half-circle driveway mark the entrance to the inn. A den-like sitting room is adjacent to the common area, with the requisite comfy couches and fireplace and Napa Valley-related literature. The hotel appears to be geared toward wine-centric tourists, as are most hotels in the area and is popular with couples on Napa Valley getaways. The property is surrounded by hills and vineyards and vine-covered trellises — a luxurious, relaxed atmosphere.

The hotel, located on the outskirts of Yountville, is a 10-minute walk from the downtown area. Across from the property are several high-end restaurants and a gas station with a wine, snack, and magazine store that opens up onto the street. A vineyard separates Napa Valley Lodge from the main thoroughfare that leads to the small city of Calistoga, and there’s a quiet neighborhood on the opposite side of the hotel. The location is convenient to the wineries that lie along Route 29, and it’s also right on Yountville Cross Road, which connects Yountville to the Silverado Trail on the other side of the valley.

Dog friendly? No

Welcome bottle of wine in the room? Yes

Complimentary breakfast? Yes -> FULL champagne buffet breakfast

#Collection wines by Gia Coppola – A Getaway to Francis Ford Coppola Winery

A weekend getaway to Sonoma during the summer is easily one of my favorite activities – especially when it involves attending an event at a winery with a pool! The Francis Ford Coppola Winery is located in Geyserville, Ca (about ten minutes from downtown Healdsburg) and an absolute must if you are heading to Sonoma during the summer.

This past Friday I attended a pool party at Coppola Winery to celebrate the launch of #Collection by Gia Coppola. The nighttime soiree featured a silent disco with tunes by Myles Hendrik, carnival food and 80s arcade games. The #Collection by Gia Coppola was inspired Gia and her creative personality. This new style of wine—one that’s light, unpretentious, and made for the hashtag generation was flowing all night long (I am fairly certain I had ALL the rosé).

This look is from our drive up from San Francisco to Sonoma. I kept it comfy for the drive (just about two hours), yet chic with the addition of the hat and basket bag. I just snagged these jeans from Express and I could not be more pleased with the fit. I have been looking for comfortable, mid-rise white jeans for months and little did I know the brand that I hadn’t shopped at since high school would be the source of my new favorite jeans!

What I Ate: Al Fresco Dining with Cultivar Wine + Pure Leaf Iced Tea

Cultivar + Pure Leaf Tea

Can I cook?

Not really. 99% of the time I either dine out or order in, but on the rare occasion that I do actually cook I have to have a VERY simple recipe and ALL the wine.

So, last week (with ALL the help from the team over at Pure Leaf Tea) I busted into my kitchen, made dinner and actually utilized the outdoor space in my apartment building for a beautiful al fresco dining experience.

Cultivar + Pure Leaf Tea

Chilled Summer Soup

By Matthew Accarrino

YIELD: 7-8 servings (8 oz)

FOR THE SOUP

1 quart tomato, diced

1 cup cucumber, peeled and seeded

3/4 cups red bell pepper, diced

1/2 cup onion, diced

1 cup strawberry, diced

1/2 garlic clove

1/4 jalapeno, seeded

1/4 cup basil leaves

1/4 cup country bread, crustless, cubed

1 tablespoon kosher salt

1/4 cup olive oil

1 tablespoon sherry vinegar

3/4 cups Pure Leaf Tea House Collection™ Sicilian Lemon & Honeysuckle

Combine all ingredients and rest overnight, minimum 4 hours, in the refrigerator. Blend finely.

I used an immersion blender – not as easy as a Vitamix

FOR THE GARNISH

Sliced strawberries, dried at low heat in oven on non-stick baking sheet

I added in the Cultivar Crushed Lemon Olive Oil as a fun and delicious drizzle. This oil is seriously yummy and great with bread or as a salad dressing.

Serve soup chilled with Cultivar Crushed Lemon Olive Oil and topped with strawberry chips.

Pure Leaf Tea

Ruti

And while the soup took a break in the fridge for 4 hours, we hit the streets and shot a few outfit pictures. This was shortly after my trip to Arizona (insert insane tan) and YES I am still rocking this insanely flattering culottes from Ruti.

They are on sale.

Buy them in EVERY color.

Cultivar + Pure Leaf Tea

This recipe is simple…

(I didn’t burn down my house and it only used one pot)

and it pairs perfectly with the Cultivar Sauvignon Blanc. This crisp, refreshing wine is perfect for sipping by itself, while making the summer soup – with the summer soup and after the summer soup.

wearing a size medium

Get groovy in this printed to perfection 70’s style wide-leg jumpsuit. The print caught my eye and the ruching details sold me. The button-up neckline allows you to decide just how daring you’re feeling. I’ve worn it very deep with no bra for a night out and buttoned up with a blazer for a film festival in wine country.
