Le Teint Particulier: Custom Made Makeup From Lancôme

Lancôme

Unless you are new around here you know that I am by no means a beauty blogger. I love beauty. I love products, but it is NOT my strength in life.

I need all the help I can get and LOVE learning from the experts firsthand. So when Lancôme introduced me to Le Teint Particulier Custom Made Makeup I was absolutely thrilled. I feel like I am the girl who walks around with a line across her jawbone where her foundation clearly does NOT match her neck.

Yep, that is me. Not matter how many times I try to get the right color. I can’t. I don’t. I won’t.

So an afternoon at San Francisco’s Clift Hotel getting custom made foundation with a custom makeup lesson (fit for a beauty school dropout) has now solved a BIG chunk of my faux beauty blogger problems.

Lancôme - Juicy Shaker

The one-on-one consultation began as a Lancôme Beauty Advisor scanned my face for my skin tone. The data is processed through a new, state-of-the-art algorithm that measures skin tone with pinpoint accuracy (very fancy). From there, the formula was blended right in front of me! The shade number is printed on the bottle, (for easy reference for refills) and my name if you look closely!

And like that my foundation matched my skin!

I also went home with a handful of Lancôme’s ‘Juicy Shakers.’  These seriously addictive lip oils (I apply them for no reason…constantly) feature a pillowy-soft cushion applicator that gives your lips a delicious shot of color with a hint of shine.

And they look like a cocktail shaker – The perfect addition to your going out clutch!

Upgrade Your Travel Style

Fab.com

It’s 4:30 in the morning the day of my trip to Africa. My bag is packed, but not zippered. I double check my apartment for any forgotten items. Everything looks good so I go to zipper my suitcase.

It won’t close….

So I sit on it. I force the zipper to close with ALL my strength + POP there goes the zipper.

Lucky for me I was stopping by my parent’s house before the airport to drop off Benji and knew that they had to have an extra suitcase laying around. Unlucky for my Mother and everyone else who was sleeping I barged into their house screaming, “somebody get me a suitcase!”

Well…everyone was fast ASLEEP, but my Mother somehow managed to find a suitcase in her sleepy state. The WORST suitcase in the world. It was a very ugly shade of brown and refused to stand on its own. I spent the entire trip picking it up, leaning it up against everything and apologizing for my suitcase.

So…

Needless to say, when I got home I was ready to upgrade my travel style!

Fab.com

Friday Forecast: Orchard Mile – Full Collections. One Destination.

Orchard Mile

Getting dressed up and shopping with friends. – Fun

Shopping in bed while watching the housewives on Bravo! – More Fun

While that might just be my opinion (but who doesn’t love the housewives + shopping), I want to introduce you to Orchard Mile, named for Singapore’s famed retail and entertainment shopping district Orchard Road and the Miracle Mile.

The team at Orchard Mile believes that online shopping should feel just as luxurious as strolling down your favorite shopping street (insert San Francisco’s, Maiden Lane). It should be just as inviting as stepping into your most-frequented boutique. They wanted to recapture the experience of entering a luxury store, surrounded with space, simplicity, and beauty. At Orchard Mile, they offer access to all the designers you love with a single shopping bag. – Fun + Easy

Check out some of my favorite designers and what I will be shopping this season below:

And I am going to leave you with this The Anne-Marie one piece swimsuit. I’m thinking this with denim cutoff shorts for the 4th, right?

Now, getting all dolled up and shopping with my gal pals is still one of my favorite past times, but shopping some of my favorite and hard to find designers from the comfort of my bed is my favorite activity…EVER. So get comfy and get to shopping!

Thank you to Orchard Mile for sponsoring today’s post and inspiring me to discover so many amazing designer pieces!

Double Denim

KatWalkSF - Double Denim

You should double up on your denim.

-Me

Twice as much denim is twice as good. Right?

I’ve been layering this (very old) destructed light wash denim vest underneath my “California” denim jacket nearly every day.

Throw in a side of purple hair + a red lip and you are good-to-go!

Friday Forecast: Destination Dad – A Father’s Day Gift Guide

jim and benji

Thinking about gifts for my Dad…

(above with Benji – 4 years ago)

Is pretty simple. My Dad loves his dog, his family, and the gym. He would be happy with a nice family dinner, a good glass of wine and a (forced) update to his horrible workout wardrobe (insert Lululemon) for Father’s Day.

But we seem to do that every year, so this year I am going to step up my game and think outside the box!

Santana Row

Santana Row is pretty much ‘Destination Dad’ and I happened to get a kickstart on my Father’s Day shopping last week when I was in Santa Clara for my shoot with Blink Inc.

The Father’s Day shopping options are endless on Santana Row and the ambience is quite the refresh from the city. Benji and I cruised each side of the row scouting out the best gifts for Dad and this is what we found:

Where to shop on Santana Row:

Bonobos // Brooks Brothers // Lululemon // Marine Layer // Scotch & Soda // Ted Baker //

Tommy Bahama // Tumi

Or

If you want to go BIG for Dad there is always Tesla!

But if you are on a budget (like me), check out some of my favorite picks from my afternoon on the row:
