Tourist in my City

IMG_5091What is better than spending the day as a tourist in your own city?

When I think of a typical San Francisco tourist, I think of freezing cold families walking around in ugly San Francisco sweatshirts (they had to buy because it got so unexpectedly cold) at Pier 39.

My mission for the day was to find some amazing crab, since crab season was fresh underway and I had yet to participate. After a brief yelp search the Crab House was deemed the place to go and off to Pier 39 I went!

I am clearly not a tourist…but I did insist on having my picture taken next to the sea lions.

Thank god I had my cape and oxblood turtleneck on to distinguish myself from “them.”

It has been absolutely freezing in San Francisco this week, so it was time to break out the big boy wool coat. Not only is this the warmest coat in my closet I am obsessed with the big gold over sized buttons!

Guest Post: Hotel Missoni

My love for all things Missoni is very clear to anyone who knows me and from this post on Designers I Love.
So when Ashley found this hotel during her travels in Europe she had to share!

Edinburgh is an incredible city of gothic architecture, rich history, haunted allies  and….HOTEL MISSONI.

IMG_2491I was stopped dead in my tracks on the Royal Mile when I saw a handsome Scotsman in a Missoni kilt. I took a picture with him, then wandered into the hotel to take tons of pictures.

IMG_2526Not only is this place (obviously) decked out in Missoni design, but it has a fabulous restaurant in it as well. Here is a link to their gallery where you can see more of their decor: http://www.hotelmissoni.com/hotelmissoni-edinburgh/gallery

This place is in a perfect, central location where you can step outside and see cathedrals, libraries, galleries, and is right next to Victoria Street where boutiques and other incredible restaurants are.

What I love most about DVF are her signature prints. You may recall this dress from this post in Paris. Not only can this dress go from day to night, I can wear it as a dress or tunic AND it travels beautifully. This fabric was made for being rolled up and thrown in a suitcase.

Yes, this is me. I went through a red head phase a couple of years ago and was clearly feeling myself in this DVF “spotted frog” print dress.

IMG_1730

DVF can really do it all. The clean lines of this blazer and slight sheen of the fabric make this a perfect basic in my wardrobe. This piece was also featured in this post.

diane-von-furstenberg-target-and-neiman-marcus-holiday-collection-launch-new-york-cityThe DVF price point is not for everyone, but she has definitely done her fair share of collaborations for the masses. Her most recent collection for Target x Neiman Marcus featured her home collection for less.

DVF loves Gap was too cute for words. I found myself (unsuccessfully) trying to stuff myself into girls XXL dresses. This collection was made the little ones but still showcased DVF’s classic prints and style.

I am still kicking myself for missing this collaboration last summer. What could be better than mixing DVF’s wild prints with current/elliot?
