The weather is San Francisco is oh-so unpredictable. One day it is sunny, the next is foggy + according to meteorologist the ‘Perfect Storm’ is hitting the Bay Area today.
So I took these pictures yesterday + let me tell you, this outfit will not be on repeat today!
With all the unpredictable weather in mind, I always like to style a look that is weather + hill friendly. A weather friendly look must include layers + a hill friendly look must include a pair of flats for the good old ‘San Francisco Switch’ (when you take off your flats 5 ft. before you enter an event + put on your heels).
I obsessed over this skirt for a solid two weeks. My shopping budget is not what it used to be…so after a couple of Poshmark sales, the seal of approval from Cara + a trip to the Anthropologie in Berkeley (with an extra 30% off sale)- it was finally mine!
Grab a big cup of coffee + join me for a little ‘coffee chat’ about beauty.
I have said it over + over again, but I am by no means a beauty blogger. When it comes to getting ‘face ready’ I need all the help I can get, especially now that my hair is blue! Who knew that dying your hair an entirely new hue would lead to an entirely new makeup struggle. Lucky for me I have had the chance to try a ton of new products + services and decided to review all of them in a little beauty roundup.
Glossier is a highly edited collection of products curated to have you face perfectly primed. I received this set about two weeks ago + have found myself reaching for the products everyday throughout the day. My favorite from the set is the Soothing Face Mist. Made with roses + aloe to hydrate + soothe, I spray this product as a makeup refresher + midday pick-me-up almost every afternoon and right before I head out for the night.
I couldn’t tell you how many times I have come home from Sephora with a black + white bag of mistakes. Makeup is not an easy buy, but my friends at choix have created a process that is painless + will help you avoid coming home with a bag full of mistakes!
Choix will let you choose the makeup samples you want to try + let you try on enough sample product to determine whether or not that product lives up to a standard you are happy with! Sampling products is key + choix has managed to create an easy + authentic service to ensure that you purchase a product that you love. When they created my sample box, they even listened to my ‘blue hair issues’ and sent over some killer products to compliment my blue weave! For $20 a month you can sample 5 products and earn a $10 credit to purchase the product you love directly from choix.

Not only was my Vênsette artist an absolute doll, she also recommended some major products + solved one of my major beauty problems! My lack of sleep + glorious genes have created some major dark circles under my eyes. Thanks to my Vênsette artist I learned that I needed a concealer with an orange tone. Within 5 minutes she erased my dark circles, I was in love + purchased this concealer in no. 3!

After trying all of the scents Pinrose has to offer, Merry Maker selected me. According to the Pinrose description for Merry Maker: radiates sunshine with a refreshing blend of nectarine, rose, and plum. This scent is fresh, fabulous + affordable too!
Beauty school was not easy but, I learned a lot + have nailed down my tried + true favorites below.
A Friday afternoon in December at the Fairmont calls for a tutu + a martini…right?
Styling a tutu past the age of six can be quite challenging, but trust me you can do it. There is something magical about the multi-layered fabric that makes me want to twirl (especially after a martini). For this look I decided to let the tutu + my blue hair make the statement. I layered on a lot of black, a massive belt + a plaid coat.
From a holiday party to happy hour with the girls, a tutu is the perfect piece to spice up your holiday style!
Shop some of my favorites tutus for the season below.
I am clearly really very excited to be wearing my tutu skirt, but tutus are not for everyone. So I picked out some other holiday skirts for the anti-tutu lady below.
Did you wear a uniform growing up? I did. I wore a navy blue plaid jumper + skirt from Kindergarten to 8th grade. Because of this anytime I put on a plaid skirt I think of my days at Our Lady of Angels. I can’t quite remember what my recess activities entailed, but I do remember hiking up my plaid skirt + rocking some serious biker shorts underneath.
We’ve finally had some rain in San Francisco this week + with that came 2 days of working from home bed and a brief period to snap these photos. I am still getting used to my blue hair + I am pretty sure the blue hair/plaid skirt combo affirms my ‘angry 6th grader’ look….but who cares, right? YOLO!
Benji finally got a walk + was hell-bent on getting his face in my pictures.
Last week we had a couple afternoon meetings on Haight, so I decided to dress the part! My clear round sunnies have been on heavy rotation lately, but I did have to dig deep in my closet to find my flares (that will now be in heavy rotation). My go-to missoni sweater + a faux fur jacket finished off my ‘Haight St.’ look.
What do you think? I am channeling my inner flower child or do I still look like an angry 6th grader with blue hair?
