DTLA + LA Market

IMG_9498I spent the last two days in downtown Los Angeles buying for the summer collection for Les Méchantes. This was our second trip to LA to buy and this trip was perfectly short + sweet.

We stayed at the fabulous Ace Hotel just blocks away from the Cooper Building. The Ace has some amazing amenities + a fabulous restaurant, but some very interesting rooms. The Ace was just blocks away from everywhere we needed to be, so as we walked around downtown LA and really took in the scene.

Since my hair is still multiple unfortunate shades of blue I kept the shots of me to a minimum!

The artwork at the Ace Hotel restaurant, L.A. Chapter was nothing short of perfection.

IMG_9587The rooftop bar + pool at the top of the Ace was the perfect place to relax after a long day of buying.

The summer collection should start arriving in May + I can’t wait to share some of our favorite buys! What are you looking forward to styling this summer?

The Tourist

IMG_9450This past weekend I found myself acting + looking like a tourist.

Maybe it was the ever present baseball hat that made me look + feel like a tourist, but hey the road back to blonde has some bumps and my weave is currently a nasty shade of blue that is not fit for the camera. It looks like I need 2 more weeks of dish soup to get my hair back to blonde in a healthy fashion, so until then I will be styling every hat, turban and scarf in my closet to cover my head!

IMG_9371

Aside from the hat I also found myself participating in tourist activities! The Golden Gate Bridge was closed this weekend and this forced me to take a ferry to Marin (something I have never done). While I go to the Ferry Building all the time for fancy foods, I never go to the Ferry Building to actually get on a ferry!

So I jumped on a ferry bright + early Saturday morning, hangover and Health-Ade kombucha in hand!

IMG_9398My Friday night UPS delivery consisted of these gems. Not only are they fantastic and maybe (?) Benji approved…they are also on sale and an additional 40% off from our friends at J. Crew and the perfect shoe for some site seeing!

Fringe Benefits

IMG_9325Last night Rebecca Minkoff (finally) opened her first San Francisco retail location +  all of San Francisco was there to celebrate!

I threw this outfit together in a rush + could also not be more excited to announce that this REALLY is my last blue hair post! I have an appointment at 3pm today + have been spending a lot of time with Dawn (yes the dish soap) stripping my hair to prepare for its transformation back to blonde. While the blue hair was fun while it lasted, it has been a BITCH to style + clashes with pretty much anything colorful in my wardrobe. I have really had to keep things neutral to compliment my royal blue weave, so this JOA fringe top was an easy choice for last nights event. I scored it during the Piperlime after Christmas mega-sale + thought that even though it was a neutral color, it still had just the right amount of sass!

IMG_9363Will you miss the blue hair or will you be happy to see it go?

Studio 54 Glam

IMG_9197I had zero intentions of channeling Studio 54 last Saturday, but a new fur from Boohoo + a new do from David at Salon A7 pushed me into a major 70s glam moment. This shaggy faux fur coat from my friends at Boohoo was the perfect piece to battle the chilly San Francisco weather + channel my best Bianca Jagger.

This look also notes the end of my blue hair chapter + the start of my journey back to blonde. The coming weeks will be filled with fun times stripping my hair of this oh-so blue color + washing my hair with dawn, yes dish soap! The blue hair was fun for a while but I think I am ready to go to my brunette blonde roots!

The Magic Maxi

IMG_8882

The after holiday weight has settled in + styling my new ‘food baby’ is THE WORST!

This weekend I worked a pop-up event for Les Méchantes + refused to let the food baby show. It took 45 minutes, nearly all my clothes on the floor + an act of god for me to throw this look together! Had I reached for this skirt first I would have remembered that this skirt is pure MAGIC. Not only did I style it in Paris, my gal pal + mega jewelry designer Marrin styled it for a shoot we did a couple of month ago + I got it for less than $20….MAGIC.

I am sad to report that this MAGIC skirt is sold out + no where to be found. So I decided to pull together some of my current favorite maxi skirts that I hope will be just as magical as mine.
