Dry Shampoo – How I Get Away With Rarely Washing My Hair

Ziesche

I love washing my (over-processed) white blonde hair just about as much as I love doing my taxes, so needless to say dry shampoo is a big part of my life!

I’ve tried them all…the pricey ones from Sephora or my hair stylist, the $3.99 Suave option from Walgreens and now the natural option from local brand, Ziesche. This all-natural formula absorbs excess oil + eliminates odor (even after my Basecamp workout).

Now this dry shampoo is not in an aerosol can, which can be scary for some people. The powder formula is super easy to apply by simply parting your hair into sections and applying it down the part. Once I’ve applied the formula I simply work it into my weave and create instant volume (and clean) hair.

A word from Ziesche that I appreciate:

Our unscented formula is gender-neutral and safe for all hair colors. And as always, we left out all the junk. Our Dry Shampoo is aluminum free, paraben free, talc free, and silica free.

#JunkFree

The dry shampoo isn’t the only product from this brand that I am obsessed with. The 001 Lemongrass, Vetiver and Sage Hand & Body Wash is another everyday favorite. The smell of this product is enough to make you slow down and take the time to enjoy a nice long bubble bath….I may or may not do this every day.

And just like the Dry Shampoo, The Hand & Body Wash is junk free making it safe for everyone – including Benji, who got a Ziesche bath yesterday when I was out of dog shampoo!

Ziesche

Did I sell you on the dry shampoo?

Perfect!

Starting today (4.14) and through this Sunday (4.17), the Ziesche dry shampoo is $15 (regular price $19.95) and comes with a deluxe travel sample and FREE shipping with the code: KATWALKSF.

So stock up now! You won’t be disappointed.

Friday Forecast: Lancôme Juicy Shakers

Lancôme - Juicy Shaker

An afternoon at San Francisco’s Clift Hotel introduced me to Lancôme’s latest products:

Le Teint Particulier Custom Made Makeup (more to come) and the Juicy Shakers.

Now, I am no beauty expert, but the Juicy Shakers are seriously addictive lip oils. I’ve worn them every day this week and can NOT stop applying them (ask Garry). The pillowy-soft cushion applicator is a new concept for me. It literally feels like a massage on your lips and the pigment in the lip oils is just right for a faux beauty junkie like me.

Juicy Shaker’s are the first pigmented lip oil with 2 distinct phases.

Phase 1: is a transparent oil phase for a comfortable non-sticky shine.

Phase 2: is the pigment phase for a shot of color.

You simply shake the Juicy Shaker, like a cocktail shaker(I can do that) to mix the pigments and oil. These Juicy Shakers are about to be the next big thing, trust me.

What I Ate Wednesday: Bar San Pancho

Bar San Pancho

This past Sunday I jumped (literally) at the shot to stop by Bar San Pancho in San Francisco’s mission district for an exclusive tasting before their soft launch this week.

#Blessed

And when the crew from Tacolicious throws down in the kitchen you know you are guaranteed to have a good meal…and if you haven’t been to Tacolicious and you live in the Bay Area, where have you been eating?

Now, Bar San Pancho has a different feel from the other Tacolicious spots. It is destined to become a mission watering hole with a menu filled with everything you need to satisfy the drunk munchies.

(insert the Frito Pie – a MUST)

Check out some of the standouts from the menu below:

Bar San Pancho

Milanese de San Pancho Torta – fried chicken, jalapeño, pepper jack, pickled onion.

IMG_0334

Dorados Al Charro Taco – achiote-rubbed chicken, queso oaxaca, crema, iceberg, roasted tomato salsa.
San Francisco Brewing Co

San Francisco Brew Co. Marina Blond – a killer beer featuring the brewer’s blonde wife on the classic San Francisco label.

Bar San Pancho

Jalepaño Poppers Taco – tres quesos-stuffed, corn flake-crusted.

#Magic

This is the best $7 you can spend in the mission!

Bar San Pancho

Cóctel de Camarón – poached shrimp, avocado, cucumber, tomato, lime, cilantro.

Saltine crackers not shown, but totally used. The perfect pairing.

What I Ate: EVERYTHING at Bar San Pancho

What I Wore: You don’t want to know, minus this killer bag…that wasn’t even mine!

Spring Style in Hayes Valley

Red Off The Shoulder DressI rarely venture outside of my comfort zone when it comes to neighborhoods (not style), so an afternoon in Hayes Valley was an unexpected treat last week. Hayes Valley is filled with killer restaurants (more to come on that topic) and an awesome sense of community, like my favorite San Francisco neighborhood, North Beach.

I was running around town on this particular day, so comfort was key. For this spring look, I opted for this boxy off the shoulder dress from H&M (love this one from ASOS too) and a pair of periwinkle boots from my friends at Cat Footwear,

#ItsBanana – The Stone Military Jacket

Bananan Republic - Military JacketI love a military inspired piece of outerwear just us much as I love my oversized Karen Walker sunglasses. Much like the trench coat + the bomber, the military field jacket is one of those styles that was originally created for practical purposes but has since been used by high-end designers and now lives in both men + women’s wardrobe.

This Stone Military Jacket from Banana Republic had me with the buttoned epaulettes + drawstring waist (insert feminine waist). I am no stranger to this style and I am confident that this new piece in my closet will be on heavy rotation.
