#ItsBanana – The Stone Military Jacket

Bananan Republic - Military JacketI love a military inspired piece of outerwear just us much as I love my oversized Karen Walker sunglasses. Much like the trench coat + the bomber, the military field jacket is one of those styles that was originally created for practical purposes but has since been used by high-end designers and now lives in both men + women’s wardrobe.

This Stone Military Jacket from Banana Republic had me with the buttoned epaulettes + drawstring waist (insert feminine waist). I am no stranger to this style and I am confident that this new piece in my closet will be on heavy rotation.

Friday Forecast: Fringe Denim + Booties

Cat BootsFringe denim has been taking over every fashion instagram feed since the launch of the 3×1 WM3 Straight Crop Fringe Jeans. The cropped hemline and shredded fringe detail make this trend an easy go-to style for ladies of all heights.

For this look, I decided to pair the jeans with a periwinkle bootie -perfect for spring and oh-so comfortable. I love the subtle pop of color with the jeans for a casual everyday look. I’ve since styled them with dresses and skirts and eh…everything. A comfortable bootie is must in my wardrobe!

What do you think of these two trends? Will you be styling them for Spring?

Try Before You Buy With Lyon + Post

Lyon + PostI love to shop (shocker), but I don’t always have the time to hit the stores and discover the latest brands and styles.

Insert – Lyon + Post.

With Lyon + Post shoppers are invited to scroll through pages of current, ready-to-wear items from contemporary notable + new brands. Queue up as many pieces as you’d like to try on (there is no limit, trust me).

Four items at a time will ship to you in a package that will make you feel like it is your birthday and your mother spent hours wrapping it!

You then have seven days to try them on in the comfort of your own home.

And the best part? You don’t pay a dime unless you decide to keep an item or miss the mailing date.

This Greylin skirt from a Lyon + Post shipment is one my favorite pieces in my closet. I had never even heard of the brand, Greylin prior to my Lyon + Post delivery and now I am a major fan. I am finding myself filling up my Lyon + Post queue with their uber stylish everyday basics.

I can not tell you how many times I have received compliments on this skirt.

Wink Flat - Chiara FerragniNext up from my latest shipment are these ‘Wink Flats‘ from mega blogging babe, Chiara Ferragni.

These flats have been on my virtual wishlist forever and lucky for me fit like a dream…

Unlike the rest of my shipment (time to hit the gym).

And with Lyon + Post you don’t pay a dime unless you decide to keep an item or miss the mailing date. So, underestimating my size was no biggie! I simply sent back the three items that didn’t fit and updated my queue with my current size!

Friday Forecast: Off-The-Shoulder Tops

I can’t stop – won’t stop wearing off-the-shoulder tops.

It’s safe to say that off-the-shoulder has been one of the most enduring trends of the past few years. And like all good trends, we’ve seen it evolve in many different ways — from slouchy to frilly sleeves to bardot.

I’ve recently featured this pink tuck sleeve over the shoulder top + this off-the-shoulder puff sleeve striped fall top (above), fully embracing the evolution of the trend by adding all the bells + whistles to my off-the-shoulder tops.

However, these throwback pictures prove that I started with simple and neutral off-the-shoulder tops.
