Plaid, stripes + loose layers = the return of grunge for fall. I don’t think I could ever embrace this trend 100% but my newly tinted purple weave + super soft plaid flannel around my waist are my attempt at modern grunge? What do you think? Am I channeling a little Courtney Love or what?

The weather in San Francisco took a serious turn towards winter yesterday, but I was hell bent on wearing this skirt. I snagged this bad boy at Anthropologie, even though it wasn’t my size (clamps + pins not shown). There was something just so magical to me about the print, the shape + the volume of this skirt that made me want to yell, Olé…but when it comes down to it this skirt is too big for me + I just listed it in my Poshmark closet on MAJOR sale.
I was recently offered a chance to win a trip to NYFW for the Spring shows in a couple of weeks. In true Kat fashion I waited until the absolute last day to join this contest. To join I had to predict just what the big trends on the runway will be + style them with some major bling from my new friends at Diamondère. So what exactly are the big trends for 2015? I don’t know…but I will post fashion week.
Thigh highs + bling…totally an appropriate combo, right? Sometimes I really wonder about what goes through my head. I kept my look fairly simple with head-to-toe black + a whole lot of bling!
