Perfect Never – Real Talk with Reebok

Reebok - Perfect Never - Fitness

I’ve never really been a fitness-obsessed kind of lady, but as I’ve gotten older (insert the dreaded 30th birthday) I’ve learned to enjoy working out and learn that fitness will not make me perfect, but it will help me be the best version of myself.

And…

The more I change up my fitness routine between multiple different activities, I’ve learned to make fitness the core of my life (more + more) and my wellbeing.

I love the way fitness can bring out my tough yet feminine side. Especially when I enjoy what I’m wearing when I work out. Isn’t funny that when you have new/cute/sexy workout clothes, how much more you look forward to your workout?

For this look, I partnered up with Reebok to showcase one of my favorite workout looks that can easily transition from the gym to the streets to brunch.

(Yes, I am one of those awful awesome girls who didn’t work out on Sunday morning, but is rocking head-to-toe fitness apparel at brunch).

Now one of the highlights of this look for me are the tights or leggings. Once I hit my late 20s and now 30s I can not get enough of high waisted anything and everything. The higher the better – I’m talking reaching new heights. Their high-waisted cut with a wide waistband maximizes their ability to flatter your waist, while still leaving you comfortable enough to kick some serious butt. They also perfectly pair with a cropped jacket and shirt tied around your waist for an outside-the-studio take.

Sutro Footwear

At this point ‘Friday Forecast’ might as well be called, ‘The Shoes I’m Shopping This Week.’

And this week I am shopping SUTRO’s.

Named after notable 24th mayor of San Francisco, SUTRO is an upcoming brand right out of the heart of San Francisco. Designed in San Francisco, hand cut & hand stitched in Mexico, SUTRO offers a wide selection of innovative, fashionable and most importantly-functional styles for men and women.

(see my original post on SUTRO’s here)

Focusing on quality & comfort, SUTRO brings you classics with a modern twist. They are comfortable – In fact I can’t  think of one Outside Lands music festival over the past couple of years that I haven’t worn a pair of SUTRO footwear to.

A Fashion Crossroads

KatWalkSF - Crossroad Trading Co

After working in fashion and blogging about fashion for so many years I can very easily get the fashion burnout. I loose inspiration. I get tired of getting dressed up and get in a leggings rut – you know what I mean. Comfy leggings, maybe a ballet flat or an OTK boot and an oversized top. Lipgloss and mascara if I am feeling a little fancy.

But then something magical happens. Like a REALLY good fashionable deal to get those fashion juices flowing again.

You know that feeling you get when you find a REALLY good deal?

For me, it is usually at Nordstrom Rack or Saks OFF 5th, but last week it happened at my local Crossroads Trading Co. store on Fillmore street in San Francisco. I was trying to do my best to clean out my closet, minimize the mess in my always-a-mess apartment and sell some of my old clothes.

Well…

Lucky for me I sold my clothes and scored this DVF Martin coat for FREE (thanks to the trade credit from my clothing sales). This jacket was one of those once in a lifetime scores. I’m talking a $525 Diane von Furstenberg for $37 (or FREE).

The short length of the Martin coat is perfect for transitioning from day to night and the textured black and ivory blend is a high-quality, thick material complimented with killer tan leather detailing, epaulets and sassy clasp closures.

Total fashion score!

A Peacoat for Fall – #ItsBanana

Banana Republic - Military Jacket - KatWalkSF

Growing up I wore a catholic school uniform every day. A plaid jumper followed by a plaid skirt that FINALLY led to a navy blue (made mini by me) skirt in middle school. Everything was blue and everything was basic. The only thing that separated my style from the girl sitting next to me were my shoes, my neon biker shorts (worn underneath my skirt) and my outerwear. Like clockwork, every Fall my mom took me to the Gap on Burlingame Avenue and got me a navy blue peacoat to wear over my uniform.

This peacoat was NOTHING like the one I am sporting today. First of all, it is not blue. I don’t think you will ever see me in anything navy blue again…ever! This cropped military-inspired peacoat is functional, for one thing (I’ll give you that, Mom – I’m not cold).

And, like menswear, it has a tough, androgynous appeal. This dark cypress peacoat is so versatile and rich – I’ve been throwing it on over everything without even checking in the mirror – check out how I styled it over a pink dress here.

And, can we talk about the epaulets? I want to throw these bad boys on everything. The brass epaulets, double-breasted buttons and striped lining give this jacket a luxe feel at a pretty affordable price point.

I blame my basic childhood on my need for all the bling!

San Francisco’s Seasonless Style

Ruti - Dress - Fillmore St - San Francisco

Oh, San Francisco! We froze all summer and now in mid-October, we have one of the warmest weekends of the year.

But don’t worry – the fog came back and we are back to business as usual.

This flowy floral dress is effortlessly Boho Chic. A day-to-night dress with subtle pleats and a stunning floral design. Paired here with driving loafers and for the chilly Outside Lands weekend here with jeans + booties – this dress can really go from day to festival to night.
