What does a San Francisco blogger pack for New York Fashion Week?

E V E R Y T H I N G

Packing for Fashion Week is overwhelming + stressful – Trust Me. What do I wear? Will I look cool enough? Will I be warm enough?

H A R D

Planning is key. So I gave myself PLENTY of time and partnered with some amazing brands to (hopefully) make NYFW a success.

L A Y E R

From bodysuits to cardigans to tights + turtlenecks!

Layering is key…just make sure you have a trusty tote to carry around ALL those layers.Travel Blogger, Travel With Me, Anthropologie, Style Blogger, Stylist, KatWalkSF, NYFW, Raden, Fashion Week, WIW, OOTD

Nope! Despite Benji’s best efforts to jump into my oh-so-fabulous suitcase he did not make the trek to NYC and is back home safe in California. Now let’s take a minute and talk about this Raden suitcase. This lightweight, durable and flexible A28 from Raden, allowed me to pack MORE and waste less space – AMEN to that! I will do ANYTHING to avoid those outrageous overweight luggage fees, right? Have you ever had a checked bag that was JUST a smidge over the allowed weight by the airline? Well, Wednesday morning (at the crack of dawn) at the airport I discovered that THIS scarf weighs in at three pounds! So I took it out and wore it on the plane and it DID serve as a fantastic blanket on the flight.

Back to the suitcase

This bad boy even has a power bank, allowing you to charge multiple devices on the go and link your suitcase with your phone via the Raden app. WOWZA!

#WhatsInMyBag? Everything – LITERALLY.

The team at Anthropologie knows hows to keep a fashionista ready for anything – especially in the beauty department. I know that dry skin is a MAJOR problem for me when I travel and the Sunday Riley water treatment is the perfect solution for dry skin. This advanced water treatment uses papaya enzymes to exfoliate, balance and restore dry, congested skin AKA everyone’s skin after a long flight and chilly weather.

See that phone in the photo? Yep. Not an iPhone. Let’s take a minute and talk about the Coolpad. The high-quality cameras allow you to capture sharp, crisp selfies + memories – PERFECT for Fashion Week.

And if you know me (and follow my Instagram) you know I love selfies!

Friday Forecast: The Ruffle Hem Pant

Fashion Blogger, Frilly Hem, Ruffle Hem, Street Style, Trends, Winter Style, Winter Trends

Have you snatched up a pair of the season’s most coveted ruffle hem crop trousers yet?

I have been on the prowl for the perfect pair these days for the following reasons:

  1. Not only are they ridiculously playful (they lend just the right amount of unexpected punctuation to the pant’s chic simplicity.), but you can actually rock them in the boardroom with a polished pump.
  2. They pair perfectly with booties + I can’t stop, won’t stop searching for the perfect gold bootie. Suggestions anyone?
  3. We’ve been rocking the romantic ruffle trend on tops for days. Let’s give our trousers a moment in the spotlight.

These Club Monaco sweater pants are on the top of my wishlist, but I just can’t get behind the price tag on a SUCH a trendy piece. I’m thinking about starting off with a fast fashion trouser before I make the plunge.

What do you think?

Beauty: Winter Skincare Must-Haves

Sunday Riley, Kate Somerville, Sephora, Sephora Collection, Beauty Blogger, Fragrance, Perfume, Valetine's Day, Valentine's Day Gift, KatWalkSF, San Francisco Blogger

We are DEEP into winter and we all know that our skin can use a DEEP cleanse and a little TLC. I love all things skincare lately, so I decided to share a few of my favorites (with just one fragrance too). But, as we all know I am no beauty expert…I mean I somehow managed to poke myself in the eye with my oh-so-trendy long almond shaped nails this week: Not a Beauty Expert and I currently have a black eye!

But, as we all know I am no beauty expert…I mean I somehow managed to poke myself in the eye with my oh-so-trendy long almond shaped nails this week: Not a Beauty Expert and I currently have a black eye! So, with that in mind, I present to you my winter skincare must-haves!

Sephora Collection, Face Mask

At $6 a pop the Sephora Collection sheet face masks are my guilty pleasure. I can NEVER walk out of Sephora without throwing a couple of these in my basket. The natural lyocell fiber masks (AKA lazy girl facial masks), each with specific skin care benefits are the perfect addition to any Netflix + Chill evening. Each of these masks is infused with a different active ingredient for relaxing the skin and achieving a brighter, more revitalized complexion. AND if you want to be the weirdo on a plane with a mask on midflight – pack a sheet mask. Sheet masks have become an airplane staple because they’re so portable. Unlike traditional masks that require you to wash your hands (and even your hair) after application, you can just tap these masks on and go. After you remove the sheet, you can even leave the serum on as your moisturizer for the day.

Kate Somerville, Wrinkle Warrior

Which skin type is it good for?
✔ Normal
✔ Oily
✔ Combination
✔ Dry

Wrinkle Warrior 2-in-1 Plumping Moisturizer + Serum is Kate Somerville’s secret anti-aging weapon to win the war on wrinkles and I am obsessed with it. At $95 this is not a cheap product, but the results make it a MUST in my beauty routine twice a day. Formulated with HA³ to visibly reduce the appearance of three different types of wrinkles: crow’s feet, fine lines, and deep wrinkles. Wrinkle Warrior’s lightweight texture absorbs instantly to create a soft satin finish, immediately restoring a smooth complexion that is prepped for a more flawless makeup application.

What are you getting for $95?

• Visibly reduces the appearance of crow’s feet, fine lines, and coarse/deep wrinkles

• Improves the appearance of skin firmness and elasticity

• Instantly plumps and hydrates skin

Sunday Riley, C.E.O.

Have you used Sunday Riley products? If not run to Sephora and but the following products right this minute: Good Genes, Luna and C.E.O. I have loved this since I discovered it years ago at Barneys. Since then the brand has grown, the products have improved and I have given them ALL my dollars.

Now let’s talk C.E.O.  A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Sunday. Yes, her name really is Sunday and her skin is 100% a glowing dream. I had a chance to talk all things C.E.O. with her and I fell in love…with the moisturizer. C.E.O. is a rich and luscious moisturizer that delivers fast-absorbing hydration while protecting and repairing the visible effects of aging and pollution exposure with high-potency, advanced vitamin C. This product was formulated WITHOUT parabens, sulfates and phthalates (?). Making it a clean beauty product to add to your kit.

Scent Of A Dream

Charlotte Tilbury, Scent of a Dream

I love this perfume more than anything in the world. I dose myself in this fragrance before I leave the house…so much so that my sister made a formal complaint against it – shut up Veronica!

According to Charlotte herself, “Like wild animals, there is a secret communication of pheromones between humans that can trigger intangible chemistry. Inspired by this, Scent of a Dream is infused with three “magic molecules”—Hedione, Iso E Super, and Ambrox—to mimic the pheromones that trigger desire.” I am not quite sure if this is 100% true but this is my go to fragrance when I want to feel sexy – insert me getting ready for countless (awful) tinder dates.

The experts say Scent of a Dream is a harmonious symphony of notes that evolves through your day. In the morning, you’ll notice a fresh, invigorating scent of lemon, peach and saffron. The heart of the fragrance develops over five hours. New notes reveal themselves—jasmine and tuberose—before ending the day with provocative hints of sandalwood and amber.  This fragrance is MAGIC and if it came in a travel tube I would carry it in every bag for every date!

FOREO, IRIS

This uniquely designed eye massager (not what YOU think it is) utilizes alternative T-Sonic™ technology to reduce the visible signs of crow’s feet, dark circles, and bags under your eyes. All while dramatically improving the absorption and efficacy of your favorite eye cream or serum. I mean after 30 who doesn’t love an eye cream or serum? Throw in a device that makes that eye cream or serum work THAT much better and you’ve got yourself an IRIS.

Its unique technology delivers gentle pulsations to the eye area, which are far more effective than manually massaging the eye contour. It features two different modes: Pure Mode and Spa Mode. Pure Mode very gently replicates the feeling of manual massage and is suitable for skin that is beginning to show signs of aging. Spa Mode recreates a professional beauty treatment by combining tapping with delicate pulsations and is perfect for skin with more pronounced signs of aging. I am 100% obsessed with the IRIS and can not go to be without using it!

How do you use this fancy device?

– Step 1: Apply. Use and spread your regular eye cream or serum.

– Step 2: Left eye. Apply IRIS on the eye contour of your left eye for 30 seconds.

– Step 3: Right eye. Apply IRIS on the eye contour of your right eye for 30 seconds.

A Statement Pant For The Holiday Season

Holiday Style - Ruti Brush Stroke Jack Pants

Do you need to wear a dress to EVERY holiday party this season?

Hello no!

These statement pants from my girl Ruti are my go-to holiday trousers when I don’t feel like hiking up the control top tights and a dress. The gray brush stroke design is as bold as it is stylish. Styled with my FAVORITE tissue turtleneck from Amour Vert and #Maxxinista score Valentino pumps and I am GOOD TO GO!
Update: We are well into the New Year and I am still rocking this look. I swapped out the red shoes for some gold booties and added in a faux fur coat (photos to come).
But I wanted to take a minute to update this post because it had me thinking about investing in quality pieces for your wardrobe. I adore all of the pieces from this look and because of their quality + style they will easily carry over from season to season. I dread the day when this Amour Vert turtleneck is in my laundry basket and not hanging in my closet – ready for me to layer with EVERYTHING (more love for this turtleneck here). The high quality of this piece has allowed me to wash it over and over again and layer it with my ENTIRE CLOSET. Moral of the story here: stop it with the fast fashion and invest in high quality pieces.

Friday Forecast: Crazy Crossbody Lady

Nope! No!

I don’t normally walk around with ALL of my crossbody handbags on at once. BUT, crossbody bags are hugely popular right now (when are they not) and are great for a number of reasons. They allow you to carry your essentials without hefting around a giant purse, the style is easily dressed up or worn very casually, they’re easy to carry since you wear them across your body, and they come in a million different varieties.

They are a MUST for a lady on the go. I own at least 20 different crossbody bags in various colors and styles. A crossbody bag is perfect for the dreaded tinder date or a fabulous summer music festival…just not when you wear them all at once!
