I spent the majority of last week and the beginning this week in Burlingame while my beloved mini cooper was repaired.
This lead me to hit up some of my old + new favorite spots on the peninsula.
Starting with my ABSOLUTE favorite spot Alana’s.
I’ve been eating at Alana’s since I was a kid and ordering the exact same thing:
Farmer’s Garden: no mushrooms with an English muffin. Get this and a side of Swedish oatmeal pancakes.
Other favorite breakfast spots in Burlingame: Nini’s Coffee Shop and Christie’s.
Every #BasicBitch (in Burlingame) needs an acai bowl -insert Bare Bowls.
This is the Rincon Bowl without granola or almond milk due to my cinnamon allergy…remind me to tell you about that one time at Starbucks…
Happy Hour at Sixto’s Cantina was (almost) a daily event.
For $5 M-F from 3pm-6pm and S-S from 2pm-4pm, you can snag everything from guacamole to house-made empanadas to a $6 margarita.
I hit Mingalaba up during a solo lunch on the Ave.
I had heard so many positive things about this Burmese spot and was determined to try it before I left Burlingame. I read online that this place gets packed, even at lunch so I got there right at 11am when they opened. The reviews were correct. This place was packed within 30 minutes of opening.
I ordered a lunch special and was not disappointed. I need to come back for dinner and try the entire menu soon!
And a trip down the peninsula is never complete without getting my hands on some seafood from Vince’s Shellfish. Lucky for me I scored an invite to an Easter/Birthday Party that served up some of THE BEST prawns I have ever had. I’m pretty sure I cleared a platter of prawns…not so lucky for the party hosts.
What are some of your favorite spots to eat in Burlingame?
Did I miss anything?
Where should I eat next time the mini needs a repair?
