The M. Gemi Palestra Sneaker

Sneakers are crazy expensive right now (insert all the designer dad shoes). Sure, there are still a ton of great options on the lower end, but more and more, it’s become “normal” to spot a pair of six, seven, even eight hundred dollar kicks when scrolling Instagram…hell I’m guilty of it here.

But when it comes to shopping for sneakers (especially a classic everyday white sneaker) my goal was to find a pair of sneakers that look expensive but don’t require a small business loan to pay for -> Enter the M. Gemi Palestra Sneaker. Now I ‘ve been wearing heels from M. Gemi for years. The Cammeo classic pointy-toe pump is on constantly on repeat in my wardrobe thanks to its classic design, comfort, and approachable price point, so I was already a fan of the brand when my sneakers arrived.

My Palestra sneakers arrived last week and in less than seven days I have really put them through the wringer. From a third date walking ALL around San Francisco to a food photoshoot that involved me balancing on a chair the Palestra sneakers survived and kept me looking cool and comfortable. I even spilled some food on them mid-photo shoot and was able to quickly wipe them clean with a napkin. With its clean lines and minimalist style—this sneaker is truly elevated. I would honestly compare them to my $400 Original Achilles leather sneakers from Common Projects, but slightly more comfortable. You can also easily get away with pairing these sneakers with dressed-up pieces or leather leggings.

Seven days into owning these sneakers I give them two thumbs up and recommend them to anyone in the market for a quality white leather sneaker.

How can M.Gemi afford to make shoes this good at such a reasonable price? Well, like lots of new fashion brands that were born in the tech era, M.Gemi sells its shoes directly to consumers instead of third-party retailers. In other words, if they did things the old school way, you could expect these sneakers to retail for at least $600. Now, look—we know nothing can beat the real thing, and sometimes a $900 splurge on sneakers is just what the soul needs. Point is, these M.Gemi sneakers will still get you all the compliments of a shoe that’s a lot more expensive.

The M. Gemi Palestra Sneaker

Details: Tumbled leather upper, soft gold eyelets, white cotton laces, leather lining with a rubber bottom. Made by hand in Marche, Italy.

Fit Tip: A super-comfy, easy fit. Readily accommodates a wider foot. Those with narrower feet may wish to go down a half size.

I am a true Italian size 38/US size 8 and on the average to narrow side and ordered true to size. I have a little bit of extra room but feel that a size 37.5/7.5 would be too small. My recommendation would be to order true to size unless your foot is really really narrow.

Poshmark Tips

  • Use the brand and exact product name in the title. Poshmark invests a ton of money in SEO (search engine optimization) and this is the best way to draw attention to your closet. You have 50 characters including spaces to attract that buyer. You want to use as many words as you can as well as clear precise words that describe what you’re selling! Of all the Poshmark tips, this is the most important!
  • Photos! Yes, I have an advantage with professional blog photos for most of the items in my Poshmark closet, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t style what you’re selling. Throw it on and take a mirror selfie or style it on the floor and take a flat lay photo. Buyers like to picture what the items would look like on a person and how the item will fit.
  • The description is just as important as the title and photos. TBH I normally just copy and paste the description directly from the brand website and add in any important information (alterations, signs of wear, etc.)
  • Pricing is at the top of my list to increase Poshmark sales. Since the price is visible to a buyer before a buyer selects the listing to learn more about that item it is very important that the price aligns with the condition of the item and comparable items in the Poshmark app. If you price yourself out of the market, buyers will browse right by your listings. To price competitively you want to check the SOLD comps, not the live listings.  Checking comps for items can be done by searching for an item you are about to list, with those results you want to filter for the SOLD listings. Once you have filtered the SOLD listings look for sold items similar to yours.
  • You sold an item! Wahoo! Snag the FREE boxes and envelopes from the post office! Yes, you read that correctly! Save your pennies and just use the FREE packing materials from your local post office. You can even order them online here. Lots of big sellers suggest wrapping the item in tissue and including a thank you card and that’s just not for me. I don’t have time for that and all the extra paper is a hard no for the environment.

Birkenstock Boston Clog Review

If the Birkenstock Boston Clogs look familiar to you, that’s probably because the style has been around since 1979, and it was extremely popular in the ‘90s and early 2000s. Now, the Birkenstock clogs are making a comeback thanks to their comfy fit and versatility. The cushioned footbed is designed to make you feel like you’re standing in the sand (and I couldn’t agree more), making them comfortable enough for everyday wear, while the neutral suede upper will go with 90% of your fall wardrobe.

I snagged them when they were fully stocked at Revolve and have not stopped wearing them since. From pilates to the airport to the beach. My Boston clogs are a fall fashion must-have!

We are well into winter and if you are anything like me staying warm and cozy is top of mind. Ugg season is here and the new “It” style: the Classic Ultra Mini Boots is selling out with every restock.

The boots are a new, updated iteration of the Classic Mini that everyone already knows and loves (proven by the over-2k reviews they have on Nordstrom), but this new style is decidedly more subtle, with an even lower shaft. They come in the ever-popular Chestnut and Black Suede hues, a couple of other neutrals, and the wild card color: hot pink. If you’re in the market for a new pair of Uggs, I recommend ordering them ASAP. They’re sure to fly out of stock (it’s already happening at Nordstrom) as soon as more and more celebrities inevitably start wearing them.

Now I’ve had my mini boots since August (thanks for the birthday present, Mom) and I have worn them pretty much every day since I got them.

Reasons why I love them:

  • They are pretreated to protect against moisture and staining. I’ve worn them in the rain and snow and they still look brand new! Hot tip: you WILL need to treat them again next year. I just read on an Ugg forum that the pretreatment only lasts one season.
  • Minis are made from warm genuine shearling. Say goodbye to cold toes. These bad boys are all you need!
  • The low shaft accentuates my skinny ankles.
  • Pretty much every supermodel has been spotted wearing them…so we are basically twins 🙂

Important Question: Do you wear socks with your Ugg boots?

Outdoor Voices Exercise Dress Review

SHOP THE NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE EDIT

TL;DR – ignore the TikTok dupes and invest in the original exercise dress from Outdoor Voices

What you wear during workouts is up to you. I personally like leggings 24/7 all year round, but maybe you’re more into tanks and running shorts. But have you ever considered wearing a dress at the gym?

Exercise dresses aren’t just for tennis anymore.

The exercise dress is in its own clothing category by this point (thanks to TikTok). And you’ve probably seen a ton of brands come out with their own version, but nothing compares to the Outdoor Voices Exercise Dress! Trust me, I’ve tried all of them.

Outdoor Voices advertises its dress as ones you can dance, rollerblade, even weightlift in <- and I went for it. It may sound counterintuitive, but dresses actually make for ideal athletic wear, especially when they’re specifically designed to move and breathe with your body.

Why do I love it?

The exercise dress is made with sweat-wicking material. Whether you are at the gym or just walking around somewhere hot AF, this dress is a yes. Are you a curvy lady? Do your thighs chafe? In a normal cotton dress my thighs are chafe city, but not when I wear this exercise dress! The shorts liner not ONLY has a side pocket for my phone it lets my thighs touch in peace.

Sizing & Care

I wear a medium in the dress and the dress features adjustable straps and a built-in shorts liner with two pockets.

Machine Wash Cold and lay it flat to dry.

$100 to NOT chafe -> SOLD

Scroll down to see the exercise dress in action! I’ve taken my two exercise dresses all over the world!

now my friends over at Reformation just launched a collection of active dresses and I am obsessed!
