Is 2017 the year of the power suit?
Hell Ya!
The Fall 2016 runways kicked off the trend, offering up pantsuits featuring slim cuts, bold patterns, slouchy fits and peplum-accented blazers. Perfect for a night out and the boardroom – depending on you style it (I’m pretty sure my boob tee wouldn’t cut it in the boardroom). Spring 2017 picked up where Fall 2016 left off, providing working women everywhere options like velvet, oversized
Spring 2017 picked up where Fall 2016 left off, giving us more power suit options in velvet, oversized silhouettes, and creative layering tricks.
Cut to Fall 2017 and it was pretty hard to find a runway that didn’t feature some form of power suiting. We saw everything from boldly patterned pieces to more conventional incarnations with an exaggerated twist.

Now, let’s talk about my look from NYFW. This entire look was a steal and one of my favorite outfits from NYFW. You can snag this entire power suit look at your local mall without breaking the bank and are sure to turn heads!
