Friday Forecast: Outside Lands Festival Style

Outside Lands Music Festival

It’s that time of the year again.

The Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival is here! The music festival held annually in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park starts today.

The first edition occurred from August 22 to 24, 2008, and included over 60 musical acts from around the world, as well as several art installations. The festival grounds included the Polo Fields (home to the Lands End Stage), Hellman’s Hollow/Speedway Meadow (Twin Peaks and Panhandle stages), and Lindley Meadow (Sutro and Presidio stages).

Bringing in ALL the crowds (40,000 to 60,000 attendees a day) we are about talking some MAJOR festival fashion inspiration all weekend long…But with the highs just barely in the 60s, I have a strong feeling that my outfits will NOT include tank tops and booty shorts this year.

I am thinking LAYERS.

Shorts + Boots – Nope! Not this year!

Maybe I am older + wiser and aware of the weather forecast, but this year I am all about layers! The last thing I need is to be freezing during Lionel Richie’s, “All Night Long.”

I will be sporting military jackets, leggings, flannels and booties…All Night Long!

Will I see you at the festival? Let me know in the comments!

And the one thing you can always wear – regardless of this crazy cold weather is jewelry!

Especially from my girl Marrin Costello (as seen above)

Check out some of my favorite festival jewelry styles here:

Fringe + Lace

Mcguire - Skywalker Leather Fringe-Trimmed Denim Jacket

I feel like fringe and lace are summer staples made for the festival scene.

This denim jacket from McGuire must have come out two plus years ago. I spotted it at the Saks store in San Francisco and easily wore it around the store for a couple of hours. I obsessed over it for months, but never found it in my size (when I had the cash the snag it). Long story short….my mom found one right before Christmas and I am pretty sure that it hasn’t left my body since!

For this look, I paired the denim jacket with this budget friendly dress with lace inserts and lace shoes from Superga SF.

I wore this look running errands around the city last week, but I am hoping to wear it to Outside Lands…

But, I think I need a ticket first #help

What I Ate: Montesacro Pinseria-Enoteca

Montesacro - Roman Pinseria-Enoteca - Mid Market

Montesacro, is a killer spot in San Francisco’s mid-market area and I just had a chance to preview their menu.

From the Pinsa to the Panzanella salad Montesacro is a gem and a MUST anytime you are around the Twitter building or feeling lazy and just want to order it on Caviar.

Heirloom Tomato, Crouton, Red Onion, Capers, Cucumber

One of the latest additions to the Montesacro menu and one of my personal favorites. Go just for the magic croutons!

Now, let’s talk Pinsa!

Pinsa is a flatbread that was once prepared by peasants living outside the imperial walls during the Roman empire. Montesacro is the first “Pinseria” in the United States.

It presents a modern take on Pinsa that is made with a blend of rice, soy and wheat flour imported directly from Rome, All GMO-free. It is low-fat, low-calorie and easy to digest.

AMAZING

The first Pinsa we dug into (above) featured an egg and I am a firm believer that all Pinsa’s should feature an egg!

A White Dress for Summer

White Dress for SummerA perfect white dress is among many of my summer staples.

It’s my go-to staple that’s as fit for a cocktail party as it is for a weekend at the beach. Whether you are replacing an old favorite or need inspiration for a totally new twist you need summer white dress.

And at less than $2o for this dress, you won’t shed a tear when you get makeup on the neckline (like I did) or spill red wine all over it (like I probably will).
White Dress for Summer

For this look, I layered a Lucy cardigan over my white sleeveless dress

(even though I probably didn’t need it in the CRAZY Arizona heat)
