It is one of my favorite legit cash games to play with my friends well, that and Fuck, Marry or Kill (but I’ll save that game for a different day). In this edition of Fashion Blogger Secrets Revealed two truths and a lie, I am digging deep in my fashion blogger vault and dropping some serious truth bombs.

…because we all know that behind the perfectly filtered lives of fashion bloggers there are some serious behind the scenes secrets. So I present to you:

1. TRUTH – I’m only wearing this fabulous Free People turtleneck because I am trying to conceal my post-Kybella swollen chin/neck situation.

Yes, this a serious truth bomb. It has now been a full two weeks since my Kybella treatment and I am still rocking a turtleneck + recovering.

My friends over at Lieberman & Parikh hooked a sister up with my very first Kybella treatment two weeks ago and yes, the recovery from Kybella is anything but glamorous (full blog post to come on this topic). Day 1 was by far the worst (I mean can’t leave the house BAD), but now I can leave the house and almost get back to my normal styling. However, my wardrobe over the last two weeks has been filled with turtleneck tops and anything with a high collar – insert the fabulous Free People turtleneck in this post.

Now, I’m not sure if every fashion blogger would share on social media that they just had a treatment to remove the excess fat that accumulates beneath their chin…but I did and I am ready to share the details from my Kybella treatment with you. In fact, feel free to leave any Kybella related questions in the comments and I will be sure to answer them in my post.

2. LIE – EVERYTHING on Instagram is REAL.

ALL the lies. We all know by now that very little on Instagram is real. I mean I can’t tell you the last time I posted a photo in real-time. Everything is strategically planned, tuned and ready to go. Bam! Fashion blogger secrets revealed!

3. TRUTH – These pants could not be more uncomfortable.

I don’t think I have ever hated a pair of pants as much as I hate these pants. On a scale of 1 to 10, I am at a 15! Let me paint a picture for you real quick. Have you ever seen the episode of Friends where Ross wears his new leather pants on a date? If not, let me break down…

Ross buys a pair of leather pants which Chandler finds ridiculous but he cannot tease him. When Ross has a date, he finds the pants highly uncomfortable, retreating to the bathroom to cool them off. However, he cannot pull them back up and with some of Joey’s unhelpful suggestions over a cellphone, he turns into a mess with cosmetic products all over his legs. The date ends.

This is literally me everytime I wear these pants. And a special thank you to my lovely sister for reminding me of this episode of Friends while I was overheating and trying to get these AWFUL pants back on. Don’t buy them #TrustMe.

A Denim Jacket + DVF

A denim jacket for fall? Groundbreaking I know…

But in my defense, I am a huge fan of a denim jacket year-round. Denim jackets have been around forever—embraced by both cowboys and pop stars—but lately, fashion designers have been reinventing the tried-and-true staple, with fresh updates on the fit and construction, and modern ideas for how to put the classic into rotation this fall.

The best thing about styling a jean jacket is that there are no rules. A denim jacket really comes to life when you put your own spin on it and pull it off in a way that says something about your personality. You can make it pretty or punk, or hey, maybe a little of both.

For this look, I focused on layers (thanks to my Kybella treatment that week – more to come on this). I started with a turtleneck (to cover my Kybella neck/chin situation), wrapped myself in a little leopard from DVF, threw on a statement boot and finished the look with my go-to denim jacket.

It’s trench coat season!

We are finally getting our first taste of fall this week in San Francisco and I could not be more excited to break out my outerwear.

Monochromatic dressing for Fall: It’s BOLD and I like it.

Wearing one color is anything but boring! It’s easy and figure-flattering…

and very cost effective in this case: this sweater is $19.99 and the pants are $34.99! You actually might not need to buy anything at all to achieve this chic, polished style! Shop your closet. I am 99.9% sure you have the pieces in your wardrobe to achieve this look.

In fashion terms, monochromatic dressing means wearing separates of one color that have different textures and/or similar shades of that color for an overall tonal look. While mixing patterns can look a bit fussy and color-blocking a bit kitschy, wearing a single shade is a simpler, cleaner approach to putting an outfit together. In fact, when you keep your overall outfit within the same color hue, the outcome can be just as striking as wearing a bold pattern or vivid color.

I was 100% inspired by ALL the monochromatic outfits I saw at NYFW in September. The fashion girls were incorporating new, contemporary purchases with older, classic pieces, proving that this fall and winter trend is here to stay and oh-so-fabulous.

DVF hits San Francisco – Stop by the DVF Studio this week.

OMG DVF is coming to SF!

Introducing the DVF Studio

For the first time, DVF brings its exciting new brand experience, DVF Studio, to San Francisco. DVF Studio is an experiential pop-up space that combines shopping and creativity. In addition to exclusively designed items, you can shop a special edit of the Fall ’17 and Winter ’17 collections, plus some limited edition denim from Levi’s.

AND this morning I had a chance to stop by the DVF Studio for a sneak peek and let me tell you, Fort Mason has NEVER looked so chic. This AMAZING faux fur collared jacket greeted me at the door and I knew I was in LOVE. The entire space screams DVF with a side of classic San Francisco thanks to Levi’s – The DVF studio is basically a San Francisco fashion bloggers dream come true!

She came to San Francisco. I met her and I cried.

The moment she walked into the room I lost it and my eyes filled with tears…

AND then I set out on the mission to take a photo with her. I didn’t want to bother her, but I also could not be in the same room as the one and only Diane von Furstenberg and not get a photo. So with the help of one of my girlfriends and a little confidence from champagne I walked up to DVF and asked her to take a photo with me…AND SHE DID (above).
