Wine Country Style: The $55 Topshop Wrap Mini Dress Everyone Needs

San Francisco Fashion Blogger KatWalkSF styles the Topshop Wrap Mini Dress for a day of wine tasting in the Napa Valley.

Update: The $55 Topshop Wrap Mini Dress is now $26.99

If you only have one dress in your closet, it should definitely be as flattering and as versatile as this Topshop wrap mini dress. This simply sophisticated dress was perfect for wine tasting last week in Napa (check out more from my visit to the Meritage Resort here) and for date night this week. Not only is this dress unbelievably flattering it is also only $55, comes in five colors and sold at Nordstrom.

Wine tasting in Napa can be a bit more formal than Sonoma so I wanted to make sure that I dressed the part while still staying comfortable! For this look, I wore a shape dress from ITEM m6 underneath my wrap dress. Now the dress can be worn with or without the shape dress, but for this day in Napa, I decided to keep it a bit more conservative with the scoop neck from the shape dress. The all-over smoothing and shaping construction also held in my tummy after an overindulgent dinner the night before at Morimoto (an absolute must for dinner when in Napa).

Now let’s talk about these shoes. Yes, they are very high (4.25″ to be exact), but they are also very comfortable. Like most heels of this high height, this shoe causes the foot to push slightly forward as you walk. To accommodate, M. Gemi suggests going a half size up. I went from a 38 to a 38.5 in these shoes and could not believe how comfortable they are. These are truly a pair of heels you can wear all day without having to store a pair of flats in your purse. Stepping into Spring – Spring Florals (that are already on sale)

“Florals? For spring? Ground-breaking.”

Spring Florals I know lame and oh-so-predictable. Nothing new over here, but this dress is an accidental favorite in my spring wardrobe. I originally bought this dress for NYFW in February wore it but never photographed it. I brought it to Milan and Paris in March and again never photographed it…but I wore it (multiple times).

Aside from the obvious floral design, this dress has so many amazing features for just $51. For a not so hefty price tag, you get a killer and comfy dress. The stretch waist was perfect for traveling and layering with tights or leggings during the winter. The thigh-high slit gives just the right amount of sex appeal and the single ballon sleeve gives it just the right touch of style.

Are you ready to break out the Spring Florals?

(or am I styling this dress a little too soon?)

SALE ALERT: The ASOS Spend and Save Sale

ASOS Spend and Save - KatWalkSF styles the oversized cardigan in rainbow stripe

Forget Black Friday my favorite sale, The ASOS Spend and Save Sale just kicked off and I could not be more excited.

Unless you are new around here you know that I am a BIG fan of ASOS

(check out my most recent posts here and here)

ASOS is a British online fashion and beauty store. Primarily aimed at young adults, ASOS sells over 850 brands as well as its own range of clothing and accessories. Asos.com is a global online fashion and beauty retailer, offering womenswear, menswear, footwear, accessories, jewelry and beauty products. It sells over 80,000 branded and own-brand products online (talk about options).

One MAJOR benefit that always keeps me coming back for more from ASOS is the ASOS Premier Delivery option. For $19 a year your order arrives at your door in just two days. Yep, for just $19! I have taken FULL ADVANTAGE of this option (especially when I am last minute shopping for trips) and just renewed it this morning or another year.

Now let’s chat about this sale. Not only does this sale save you up to $100 off your order, it also includes some brands that rarely go on sale – think AllSaints, Calvin KleinLe Specs and Dolce & Gabbana. One of my favorite items to stock up on during this sale is swim. ASOS makes some of the BEST swimsuits at an affordable price point out there including the white swimsuit above styled with the rainbow ASOS cardigan.

Beauty: My Four Holy Grail Hair Products (splurge-worthy edition)

Beauty Blogger KatWalkSF shares her four holy grail hair products - Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray

My Four Holy Grail Hair Products (splurge-worthy edition) :

Before we dig deep into this post I want to quickly acknowledge the fact this is 100% a splurge-worthy edition beauty post. All of these products are pricey and were purchased with my own dollars (minus the Dyson).

I decided to put together this post because I honestly love each of these products and have created a pretty seamless hair routine because of them. I have done a lot of awful things to my hair over the past couple of years and am finally in a place where I have long healthy bleached blonde hair – and I owe it all to these products.

Now let’s talk pricepoint and sticker shock. Yes, I am well aware that these products are pricey but I have found a way to purchase them with a bit of a discount (sometimes). The majority of these products are sold at major department stores and while we all know that they RARELY go on sale each store has a beauty sale at least once a year – and that is 100% the best time to stock up!

Take advantage of the Sephora Beauty Insider sale (up to 15% off), The Nordstrom Half Yearly and Anniversary sales (select beauty deals and sales) and I have honestly had the best luck buying these products on sale from Bloomingdales. I most recently scored 3 out of the 4 products during a spend $100 get $25 off beauty sale at Bloomingdales!

So now that we have accepted the (crazy) prices of these products let chat about just why they are my top four holy grail hair products.

Dyson, Supersonic Hair Dryer $399

If I could marry a hair dryer I would marry the Dyson Supersonic. I COULD NOT LOVE this bad boy more. It has completely transformed my (severely damaged) blonde hair. The high-velocity airflow allows for ultra-fast drying while helping to prevent heat damage and protects your hair’s natural shine, making it my top holy grail hair product – check out my full blog post on the Dyson here.

OUAI, Memory Mist $28

My love for Jen Atkin and her hair care products is REAL (minus the Dry Shampoo Foam – don’t buy). The Memory Mist is my latest OUAI find and the key to a perfect longlasting blowout. The lightweight spray memorizes your hair’s shape and texture and holds it that way until your next shampoo – WOW! Yes, the $28 price tag is aggressive but there really isn’t anything like the Memory Mist on the market.

Oribe, Dry Texturizing Spray $46

The price of this product is OUT OF CONTROL… yet I keep on coming back for more. $46 for a texturizing spray that smells so good they created a perfume out of the scent is INSANE but totally worth it all at once. This multitasking spray is the ultimate quick-fix product. Part dry shampoo, part texturizer, its unique formula soaks up the oils in your hair and gives your coif an instant dose of altitude.

Oribe, Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil $55

This luxuriously light oil from Oribe absorbs instantly to restore hair to its prime. I put this oil on the ends of my hair every night before I go to bed (after any face products) and have almost completely put an end to dry, damaged split ends. This hair oil works wonders and I am fairly certain that I have tried every oil on the market!

Now I’m curious as to what your holy grail hair products are. Let me know in the comments.

(I am currently looking for holy grail shampoo/conditioner products for blondes)
