How about trying to navigate exactly what day you are allowed to shop the sale?
Do you have a Nordstrom card? Exactly how much do you have to spend on said Nordstrom card each year to shop the sale early??
Last year I was shopping the sale early with my mother (an icon level cardholder) at the Standford Shopping Center Nordstrom location and they let us shop in EVERY department but shoes. They let us try on ALL the shoes. Find the perfect pair and then the manager jumped on his high horse and told us that we could not purchase said shoes until the following day. My mother’s bedazzled card qualified for an early day of shopping…but he was NOT having it! No shoes for us!
But despite all the chaos that is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale it is (in my opinion) still the best sale of the year. It’s when I stock up on basic t-shirts and cardigans, my favorite Topshop and Good American jeans and the MOST COMFORTABLE blanket ever!
If you are still TEAM ANNIVERSARY SALE here are some of my top picks:
- The Topshop Joni High Waist Jeans (featured in the first look of this post). Now I did not purchase these during the sale because I already owned them and loved them. When I saw them on the sale I could NOT have been more excited. At $39.90 not only are they a great price for jeans, but these are the kind of dark black stretchy jeans that can easily work as black pants for work. Runs small; order one size up. I’m wearing a size 30×30.
- Tees! Give me all the basic white tees this time of the year and if you want to add a little flair to your tee snag the Something Navy Puff Sleeve Tee. I am wearing it in both of the looks in this post and have worn it (almost) every day since I snagged it. The sleeve detail takes this tee is anything but BASIC.
- SPANX Faux Leather Leggings. $64.90 -> Just buy them, but if you need more info I did a full blog post on my love for these leggings and all things leopard on the sale here.
- Beauty: the Oribe Gold Lust Set and the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Full-Size Lip Kit
- Patagonia EVERYTHING. These classic San Francisco basics NEVER go on sale.
- Have you worn Zella brand leggings? I just discovered this brand at the sale and I am in LOVE. Think of Lululemon quality and style at half the price.
- I bought this candle because of its iridescent tie-dye vibes and now my entire house smells like an Anthropologie store.

Yes, I am the last person in the world to sign up for Amazon Prime…so in true procrastinating millennial fashion I signed up for Amazon Prime on the first day of Amazon Prime Day! Now I’ve got it but I don’t know how to use it, so I took it to my Instagram stories for help!

After shopping for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale both in-store and online I found two major themes for the best products from the sale: leopard EVERYTHING + Spanx leggings.
Now we all know that trends come and go (and come and go), but there are some things that never go out of style, and in this case it is leopard print. From cardigans to blankets the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale does not disappoint when it comes to this trend. When I got home from shopping for the sale I have to say that more than 80% of my purchases are leopard print and I am not mad about it!
Spanx faux leather leggings are a staple in every lazy fashionista’s wardrobe. I wear mine easily 3-4 times per week and could not love them more. Perfect for everyday layering (or shamelessly wearing them solo), these lustrous faux-leather leggings are designed with a wide shaping waistband (hello FUPA control) and a second-skin silhouette. Do not sleep on these. Stock up ASAP! You will not regret it!
