What I Ate Wednesday: Ferry Building Eats

El Porteno - EmpanadaSan Francisco’s Ferry Building is filled with artisanal bites, beers + birds!

Yep, that is a bird ripping my (maybe?) delicious empanada from El Porteño out of my hands before I could even try it!

I decided to explore the Ferry Building last weekend + hit up some of my favorite spots along the way.

Gott's - BeerNeedless to say, an ice cold beer was necessary after the bird attack, so I hit up Gott’s.

They open at 10 on the weekend!

Gott's - Fries

Sweet Potato Fries (chili spice dusted), Buffalo Sauce and some magic house-made ranch (not pictured).

Pro Tip: Mix all the sauces together + dip.

Gott's - Onion Rings

THICK + BEER-BATTERED

Onion Rings for the win!

Dip these bad boys in the sauce mentioned above.

Hog Island - Oysters

After all the fried snacks I decided to hit up Hog Island Oysters for mussels (and more fried snacks).

These killer mussels had a delicious mix of shallots, celery leaves, leeks, mustard, white wine + butter –

A new Hog Island favorite.

However, an old Hog Island favorite, the grilled cheese sandwich (not pictured + not eaten) is no longer on my list of favorites!

Hog Island - Oysters

Grilled Oysters Rockefeller for the finish + the win!

My favorite bite of the day, but I guess I’ll never know about that empanada until I hit the Ferry Building again!
